Speaker's Biography

Dr. Kitti Wongthavarawat is the Head of the Health Innovation and Information Research Team, Assistive Technology and Medical Devices Research Center (A-MED), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). Since he completed his Ph.D. (Electrical and Computer Engineering) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, he has worked as a researcher at National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), NSTDA, before moving to A-MED, NSTDA. His expertise is in the field of broadband wireless access, wireless network design, and development. He has applied his expertise to digital health and technologies for the elderly. He has developed various digital health platforms used by governmental organizations in Thailand, such as the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEMS), National Health Security Office (NHSO), Department of Older Persons under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. His digital health platform "A-MED telehealth" has been used to handle more than 1,000,000 patients in Thailand during the COVID-19 outbreak. This platform brings the 2021 ASOCIO Award in the Healthtech category from Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) to A-MED.
